Terms of Service
Last updated August 15, 2026
These terms govern your use of storyip.ai and any book development package you purchase from us. Please read them before buying. Where you sign a separate written agreement with us, that agreement controls.
Agreeing to these terms
By using this site or purchasing a package, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or buy a package.
Story IP is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
What we provide
Story IP produces full-length books on behalf of clients. Depending on the package you select, this includes guided author interviews, voice capture, manuscript development, professional editing, cover design, interior formatting, ISBN registration, and distribution setup.
Exactly what is included depends on the package purchased. The package descriptions on our pricing page form part of these terms.
How your book is produced
Your book is produced through a combination of AI-assisted drafting and human editorial direction. A ghostwriter directs your project, shapes its structure, edits every page, and is accountable for the finished manuscript.
The drafting system works from your interviews and your voice profile. Every chapter is subject to your review and approval before it advances.
Packages, fees, and payment
Package prices are shown on our pricing page and are charged as a one-time fee unless we agree otherwise in writing. Payment is processed by Stripe; by purchasing, you also accept Stripe's terms.
Prices may change at any time, but a change never affects a package you have already paid for. Fees exclude any taxes that may apply.
What we need from you
Your participation is what makes the book work. To keep your project on schedule you agree to:
- Complete your author intake and attend the scheduled interview sessions.
- Review delivered chapters and provide feedback or approval within the agreed window.
- Supply reference materials we reasonably request.
- Give approval at each formal approval gate before the project advances.
Approvals and revisions
Your project includes formal approval gates. Nothing advances past a gate without your sign-off, and no manuscript goes to production without your final approval.
The number of revision rounds included depends on your package. Work beyond that scope — substantial rewrites, changes of direction after approval, or added scope — may be quoted separately.
Delays in review or approval extend the project timeline accordingly.
You own your book
On full payment, you own all rights to the finished manuscript and the published work, including all intellectual property in it. Story IP retains no ownership, royalty interest, or licensing rights in any deliverable produced for you.
You keep the copyright, the revenue, and control over how the work is used.
We may reference the existence of our working relationship in our portfolio or marketing only with your written permission.
Confidentiality
Everyone assigned to your project signs a confidentiality agreement before receiving your material. We will not disclose your story, your identity as a client, or your manuscript to anyone outside your project team without your permission, except where the law requires it.
Your responsibilities for content
You are responsible for the truth and accuracy of what you tell us. By providing material you confirm that:
- You have the right to share it, and sharing it does not breach any agreement you are bound by.
- It does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property rights.
- Statements you make about identifiable people are accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- It does not violate any confidentiality, non-disclosure, or settlement obligation you have.
Publishing and distribution
Where your package includes publishing, we prepare and submit your book to third-party platforms such as Amazon KDP. Those platforms set their own terms, review standards, and timelines, and we do not control whether or when they accept or list a title.
Publishing accounts are established in your name, with revenue flowing directly to you.
No guarantee of results
We are engaged to produce a professionally written and published book. We do not promise any particular commercial or professional outcome — book sales, revenue, rankings, media coverage, client acquisition, or speaking opportunities.
Any figures on our site describing outcomes are illustrative or drawn from cited third-party sources, and are not a prediction of your results.
Cancellation and refunds
[REFUND POLICY — BUSINESS DECISION REQUIRED. Define what is refundable and at which stage. Because production begins immediately and work is bespoke, a common structure is: full refund before the discovery call, partial refund before manuscript development begins, and non-refundable once drafting starts. This must be set before launch.]
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Story IP is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost business opportunity.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of your package is limited to the amount you paid us for that package.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Story IP against claims arising from material you provided — including claims of defamation, invasion of privacy, or infringement of intellectual property — and from any breach of the responsibilities described above.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in [COUNTY, STATE]. [CONFIRM JURISDICTION AND WHETHER ARBITRATION IS PREFERRED]
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Changes do not apply retroactively to a package already purchased.
