Story IP

Privacy Policy

Last updated August 15, 2026

Story IP is built on people trusting us with the most personal material they have. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we will and will not do with it.

Who we are

Story IP ("Story IP," "we," "us") is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], located at [BUSINESS ADDRESS]. This policy covers storyip.ai and every service we provide through it.

If you have questions about anything here, or want to exercise any of the rights described below, email hello@storyip.ai.

Information you give us

Most of what we hold is information you deliberately provide:

  • Inquiry details — your name, email address, and a short description of your story, submitted through the contact form.
  • Author intake responses — the answers you provide in the intake survey, which may include personal history, family details, career events, relationships, and material you specifically identify as sensitive.
  • Interview recordings and transcripts — audio, video, and written records of the guided conversations used to build your manuscript.
  • Reference materials — photos, documents, journals, articles, links, and other material you choose to share.
  • Correspondence — emails, messages, and call notes exchanged with our team.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site we receive standard technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages viewed. This is used to keep the site working and secure.

The site uses cookies that are necessary for it to function. If we enable analytics or advertising cookies, this policy will be updated to say so before they are used. [CONFIRM ANALYTICS STATUS BEFORE LAUNCH]

How we use your information

We use what you share to:

  • Produce your book — building your voice profile, researching context, drafting, editing, and preparing your manuscript for publication.
  • Communicate with you about your project, scheduling, and approvals.
  • Process your payment and maintain business records.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide support.
  • Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Your story stays yours

Everyone assigned to your project signs a confidentiality agreement before they receive any of your material.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your story, your intake responses, or your manuscript with anyone outside your project team without your permission, except where the law requires it.

Where you have identified material as private or to be handled with care, we treat that instruction as binding on your project team.

How your material is processed

Producing your book involves AI-assisted drafting alongside human editorial work. Your interviews, intake responses, and reference materials are processed by these systems as part of delivering the service you purchased.

We do not sell your material, and we do not provide it to third parties for the purpose of training their publicly available models. [CONFIRM WITH COUNSEL AGAINST YOUR ACTUAL VENDOR AGREEMENTS]

Who else sees your information

We share information only with providers who help us operate, and only as much as they need:

  • Stripe, which processes payments. Story IP never receives or stores your full card details.
  • Our hosting, email, and file storage providers.
  • Publishing and distribution platforms — such as Amazon KDP — when your finished book is submitted, and only with your approval.
  • Professional advisors, and authorities where we are legally required to disclose.

How long we keep it

We keep project material for as long as needed to deliver your book and to meet our legal and business obligations, and then for [RETENTION PERIOD] afterward.

You can ask us to delete your material at any time. Some records — payment and tax records in particular — must be retained by law, and we will tell you if that applies to your request.

Security

Access to project material is restricted to the team working on your book. We use industry-standard measures to protect information in transit and at rest.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct it, request its deletion, object to how we use it, or receive a copy in portable form. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Email hello@storyip.ai to make a request. We will respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires.

Children

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Visitors outside the United States

Story IP operates in the United States, and your information will be processed there. Privacy laws in the United States may differ from those where you live. By using our services you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For changes that materially affect how we handle your information, we will notify active clients directly.
